Chapel

Chapel (assembly) is held weekly. This is where class awards will be issued and special items will be performed from time to time. Also during this time, students will learn Bible stories and sing songs of praise to our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. Parents are invited and encouraged to share this time with us.

Childcare

Child Care is provided here on the premises for all WCGS students for a moderate fee. Child care details are available by contacting the office. Morning Care operates from 7.30 - 8.30am and after school care operates from 3.00 - 6.00pm.

Library

The school Library is an important part of the school resources. Students have regular Library sessions and have access to the Library for reading and research. Students will learn how to use the Library and are encouraged to care for books.

Sports—Athletics and Swimming

Students are given opportunity to compete at school, zone and state levels of competition*. Training for these events will take place during school hours.

*Only students 8 years and over are able to complete at zone and state levels.

Extra Curriculum Areas

At WCGS, we encourage students to develop academically as well as in other areas. For this reason, we run various extra-curricular activities throughout the year. Details outlining days, time and cost are sent home prior to the activities beginning. Positions are limited so prompt completion and return of form to class teachers is essential.

Competitions and NAPLAN

It is a requirement that students in Year 3 and 5 participate in NAPLAN. Students who wish to participate in academic competitions in English, Mathematics, Writing, Computer Studies, Science and Spelling will be given time out of class to complete these. Details regarding the competitions, date and cost etc. will be sent home as soon as they become available. (Years 3 - 6) complete NAPLAN.
